The 20 ft. white cedars
encircling the property create total privacy and are the first
charming detail to welcome you to this quaint two bedroom cottage.
You'll love the tongue and groove pine interior, the
romantic and cozy natural gas fireplace that starts
with the flick of a switch. FREE Satellite television
on HD Flat screen TV available with movie channels [ no
extra charge ]. There are no pumps to prime or septic tanks
to overflow as the water and sewer system are city
connected. Barbecuing [Propane is
extra] becomes enjoyable as there are no
black flies, Deer flies or Horse flies to ruin your stay . There is a 25
foot dock to attach your boat [Extra
charge] or canoe. A canoe or pedal boat is available
for an additional $40.00/wk which includes two adult approved
lifejackets and paddles. The yard is level and is
fully landscaped right up to the cement shore wall. { There
is no sand beach } Four lawn chairs are provided for your
convenience to watch boats traveling through the Trent
waterway system. Lake Couchiching is over 11 miles long and
connects directly into lake Simcoe which is over 33 Miles
long. There are thousands of miles of shoreline in the Trent
system and all are accessible from our sheltered bay.
Feed the ducks that call our bay home. Orillia is a
small city of 30,000 people. It is surrounded by two lakes
of considerable size, Simcoe and Couchiching. Orillia has
all the amenities of the city but little or no traffic and you can
walk everywhere via the Lightfoot Trail .
It is only 4 blocks to historical
Couchiching Beach Park with its' gorgeous sand beach
and city owned marina.
It is less than a 10 minute walk to Tudhope Park and its' secluded
beaches. The Lightfoot Trail passes directly behind the
cottage. The fishing is superb and many species are
represented , including both
Small and largemouth Bass, Crappie, Muskellunge, Walleye, Pike,
Carp, and Sunfish for the kids.
Couchiching has many islands
but one stands out more than the rest. It is named Chief's
Island. The island is owned by Mnjikaning First Nation who
run Casino Rama. The island is 110 Acres ( uninhabited ) but
private with a native burial area on it. The part that is
available to boaters is sand beach around most of the island,
making it a popular summer destination.
